Too Faced Melted

Too Faced Melted Liquid Lipstick

Too Faced Melted liquid lipstick is a beautiful thing. So many brands have come out with their version of liquid lipstick that I thought I would devote the next couple of posts to the ones I own. The varieties of liquid lipstick vary greatly between brands, from completely dry and transfer proof to still moist and staining that will transfer. Some will zap your lips into Sahara Desert territory, while others still leave your lips feeling moist. Too Faced has created a version that is somewhere in the middle. These beauties have fully opaque coverage and leave behind a nice stain from the bolder colors. These stay moist enough on lips, as in they don't dry down like paint on the wall, but they don't leave your lips feeling like you have balm on them either. The shade range has recently expanded, and I can't wait to try a few new shades. There is some type of scent to these that I can't exactly describe. Its not unpleasant at all, but I can smell it through the tube. I think it's some type of cherry scent. The applicator on these is different than other liquid lipsticks. They are housed in a squeeze tube with a fuzzy angled tip. The four smaller ones came together in a gift set at Christmas, while the larger one is full size.

Melted Nude

Let me start off by saying, I'm not typical a "nude" fan. Don't get me wrong, I think it looks amazing on some people. I just feel much more comfortable in brights, bolds, and alternative colors. However, when I swatched this color at the store, I really liked it. I like the fact that it isn't an invisible nude, but rather an obvious nude.

Melted Nude

This nude actually reminds me of the peach color Crayola Crayon. It has warm orange undertones, but doesn't come off orange-y.

Melted Nude

Here I'm only wearing Melted Nude, but this does look great with a brown lipliner. This is a perfect compliment to a smokey eye look.

Melted Peony

I was a bit intimidated to wear this color at first. I can rock black lipstick, no problem, but this light pink scared me. Why? Because we have all seen the glow. You know what I'm talking about. The color that your skin tone seems to morph into when wearing pastel, milky colors. Yeah, that glow. I'm happy to report that you will be spared the expense of walking around town looking like you spent too many hours in a tanning booth while your wearing this. Melted Peony is a light to mid-tone pink that doesn't lean too cool or too warm. Although it is light, it is not pastel which is where I run into problems. It also doesn't come across as milky, which is also a no-go for me.

Melted Peony

I think this color of pink is perfect for someone who wants a pink that verges into a more neutral territory. No princess pink here.

Melted Peony

This color also looks great with a smokey eye look. Its a fun little pop of color for those who don't like obviously loud pinks.

Melted Fuchsia

Now this is intense. It's so bright that my camera can't even capture it. While not neon, it certainly is electric. This is a bright, bold, hot fuchsia with beautiful blue undertones. This color is an attention getter! I would highly recommend popping into an Ulta or Sephora to swatch this on your hand. I feel like some type of super hero when I wear this. Really, it's that amazing.

Melted Fuchsia

This is the pink for adventurous lipstick wearers. It wears so well that even after it begins to wear off, the stain is so bright that no one can tell. I wore this to Disneyland for 8 hours and never had to reapply.

Melted Fuchsia

See what I mean? Just look at that beautiful pink!

Melted Berry

This is a plummy-red with cool under-tones. While on the darker side, it doesn't fall into Vampy territory. It isn't exactly dark, but rather deeper in hue.

Melted Berry

If you have been wanting to wear a red without it being a full on red, this might be for you. The deeper plummy side of this makes it very wearable for every skin tone.

Melted Berry

This is the type of red that I love. I like the depth of color here. It would be beautiful with a smokey eye or nude eye. Although, my favorite eye color to wear this with is antique gold and olive green colors.

Melted Ruby

Melted Ruby is a bright red with blue under-tones. This is a perfect pin-up red. If you love a bold lip color, this will be your power red.

Melted Ruby

This color is bold and bright in one swipe. It has a nice stain effect, extending your wear time. This is the perfect balance to a nude makeup looks.

Melted Ruby

This is particularly beautiful with gold or champagne colored eyeshadow. With a red like this, it should really be the star of the show.

The Too Faced mini set of four retails for $25 (a steal) for 0.64 oz. The full size retails for $21 for 0.40 oz. These wear well, and really do give full coverage in one pass. They feel comfortable to wear, while not feeling heavy on the lips. Would I repurchase? Yes! In fact, my future color wish list includes Melted Fig, Melted Melon, Melted Strawberry, Melted Velvet, and Melted Villian!!

I hope my review gave you some insight into how lovely these lippies are. Have you tried them? Have a gorgeous day!
