Neon French Manicure
I have to admit that I am a nail biter. It's an unfortunate habit that is hard to break. The only way I can keep from chewing on my nails is to keep them painted. Time doesn't always allow for wet nail polish. To make the drying time bearable I have a wonderful product to share with you, but more on that in a minute. I also have to admit that I am not great at nail art. The extent of my painterly abilities isn't much. I have tried doing water marbling, but really you have to have other-worldly ability to pull that off. I like simple designs that are easy to pull off.
Seche Clear, Zoya, Sally Hansen, Orly, Seche Vite
For my dotted neon french manicure, I used Seche Clear as my base coat. Once dry, I used Nailene Perfect Tip guide stickers to get a perfect line to guide my tips. After the sicker guides are in place, I painted two coats of Zoya Paz across the tips. As soon as I finish painting one hand, I remove the stickers from that hand. When both hands are finished with the orange tips, I paint an accent nail. Let this layer set. With a dotting tool, I take my black Sally Hansen polish and dot under the edge of the french tip, and down the center for the accent nail. I give about 15 minutes for everything to set before applying a layer of Orly French Manicure in Bare Rose. I apply one layer of bare Rose, and wait about five minutes and then apply one coat of Seche Vite. This stuff is a must for anyone who wants to get their drying time down when painting their nails. Thats it. With the nail guide stickers and a dotting tool, you can create a cute French Tip with out being Monet.
Seche Clear, Seche Vite
If you have never tried Seche Vite, I would highly recommend picking some up. While Seche Clear is a base coat, Seche Vite is not your typical top coat. It's a multi-tasking top coat that protects your polish as well as enabling it to dry much faster. I have tried so many different products from quick drying top coats to quick drying aerosol spray, and they all just seemed gimmicky. This, however, truly does what it claims to do. It's best to apply it on polish that is still a bit wet. I like to let mine set for a few minutes, and then apply. Within 30 minutes, you can go about your day. It gives the best high-shine I've ever seen from any top coat. Really it is something that you would have to use to understand. Now, that being said, I have to point out that the warning on the back does say "Contains Chemicals Known To Cause Cancer". While I will always use it, I want you to be aware of this. I'm not fearful this will give me cancer. Heck, I live in California, everything has this warning label on it. Just walking into Enterprise Rent a Car, you will find this same warning label on the door walking in. Just be informed when deciding whether you should use this or not.
I love the look of this simple French Tip. Retail price is as follows: Seche Clear is $6.99 for 0.5 fl oz, Seche Vite is $8.99 for 0.5 fl oz, Zoya Paz is $9.00 for 0.5 fl oz, Sally Hansen Black Out is $2.99 for 0.40 fl oz, Orly Bare Rose is $8.50 for 0.60 fl oz. Would I repurchase? Yes, especially The Seche Vite!
