Revlon Perfumerie
Revlon Perfumerie is an interesting take on nail polish. This is my first time trying scented nail polish, and I have to say my thoughts are varied. They come in an array of colors and finishes, and each color is named with its intended fragrance. The idea here is great! I love the idea of a pleasant smelling polish. While they are fragrant when dry, the typical nail lacquer scent is still quite strong up until they are completely dry. This might be an obvious situation to some, however I wish it was more predominantly written on the bottle so people know not to breathe it in while wet. I also think that some people might love a certain color and find that the scent isn't to their liking. The colors are fantastic. They apply well, and come in a bottle that resembles a little perfume decanter. At first, I thought the small handle might be troublesome to hold, however, it wasn't a problem. I actually really like the look of the bottles. The fragrances themselves are definitely what makes these polishes stand out from others at the store, and I think they are worth having a look at. All swatches are one coat.
Revlon Perfumerie in Wintermint
Ok, I'm a sucker for all things mint, any type of mint. This was sure to be a hit right off the bat. Not to mention this is almost an exact dupe for Deborah Lippman's Mermaid's Dream, which sells for $20. The color is a lovely mint green holographic base with gold micro-shimmer and blue glitter. Two coats are needed for even coverage. Initially I thought the fragrance would be a wintergreen scent, it's actually a peppermint scent that reminds me of crushed Altoids.
Revlon Perfumerie in Moonlit Woods
Moonlit Woods is a blue-toned metallic purple. This is a unique purple to my collection. Two coats will give an opaque finish. The perfume notes are hard to pin down in this. The name originally made me think of Bath and Body Works Moonlight Path which is also purple, however the two have nothing in common. This really comes across with a sweetness that can only be vanilla with something else, incense maybe? This fragrance isn't my favorite, but the color is wonderful.
Surf Spray
This blue is bright and cheerful. Its a mid-tone blue with a shimmer finish. It really does need two coats for decent coverage. The smell of this polish really brings to mind fond memories for me. Inside this little bottle is the fragrance of the Pirate's of the Caribbean ride at Disneyland. Anyone who knows that ride, knows it's distinct aroma, and this is it!
All in all, I like these. Not every scent is going to work for everyone, but there should be something for everyone with the variety available. These retail for $5.39 for 0.40 fl oz. Would I repurchase? Yes.
