Maybelline Color Show Brocade and Veils

Maybelline Color Show Brocade and Veils

Here are a few nail polishes that I'm quite excited to tell you about. The thing that gets me most excited about in terms of nail polish finishes is glitter! I love glitter. We all know that wearing loose glitter is amazing, but you always seem to find glitter everywhere. Just when you think you have gotten every last sparkly particle, you find a shiny lurking somewhere. But fear not. Wearing glitter is your friend when applied in polish. All that glistening goodness dried to a perfect light catching shine without the loose mess.

Maybelline Color Show Brocade and Veils

The first color is has holo base with larger glitter throughout. The last four are Veils, which can be worn alone for a sheer shimmer effect or as a top coat to change the effect of any nail polish. All nail swatches are one coat. For the Veils I have applied one coat alone on the first two fingers, and one coat over a black base for the last two fingers.

Guilded Rose Brocade

Oh how this color makes me happy. This is a gold holo micro glitter base with light pink glitter in a larger particle size. Together the colors form a very champagne type color.

Guilded Rose Brocade

This gives good coverage in one coat, but two coats would be preferred for full opacity. A top coat is needed for longevity.

Crystal Disguise, Teal Beam, Blue Glaze, Amethyst Aura

Maybelline Color Show Veils are transforming top coats. Worn alone, they can give a subtle shimmer  or sparkle without drawing too much attention. But the real magic happens when these are layered over a colored base. These change ordinary nail polish in to something extraordinary.

Crystal Disguise Veils

Crystal Disguise is a clear base with gold and blue micro glitter. This Veils has a surreal effect to it. Although this is the lightest color of the bunch, it also has the most possibilities in my opinion. Because this color isn't as bright or obvious as the others, it can be worn over any color without looking like you tampered with your polish.

Teal Beam Veils

Teal Beam is fun because it combines metallic glitter with non-metallic glitter. It is a combination of gold metallic micro glitter in a clear base with pastel blue and pastel yellow non-metallic glitter. Together you get a very fun, shimmery, teal speckled, top coat. This is going to be lovely for Spring.

Blue Glaze Veils

Blue Glaze is micro glitter the color of blue jeans in a clear base. This has even coverage with the micro glitter. Layering a few coats will really make this pop. I only did one coat so you can get an idea of how this would look layered over a dark base.

Amethyst Aura

Amethyst Aura has metallic purple micro glitter as well as a larger size purple glitter. This is a blue-toned purple. This would look fantastic over red polish!

I love the idea that you can change the effect of polish that you already own. These would be great for accent nails, or for your whole manicure. At the price, its easy to justify buying more than one! These retail for $2.99 for 0.23 fl. oz. Would I repurchase? Yes!
