e.l.f. HD Blush

e.l.f. HD Blush Collection

Let me share my feelings about e.l.f., I have never really been a mass consumer of this brand. The products I've tried have been very hit and miss. The lure here is, of course, the price point. You see an eye catching shade in one product or another and you say to yourself, "hey, it's only a buck or two" right? Right. However, I've had some real misses from this brand that, even for one dollar, had to be returned. I'm looking at you, e.l.f. nail polish. But once in a while you try a product and it's so great that you go back out to get the rest of the collection! A couple of days ago I decided to pick up one of these cream blushes in Superstar, and everything about it was grandiose. Even though these initially look small, they have quite a large amount of product inside. They are housed in a pump style plastic jar. At first, you will have to pump it two or three times to get the product flowing. Be careful with how much you pump out, as one full pump is way too much product even for both cheeks. The texture is very mousse-like. I have applied it with a Beauty Blender as well as a small stippling brush.   Both methods work great. This stuff is pigmented! Wow! A little really will go a long way here. They wear for 8 hrs without any fading. I love that e.l.f. thought about different skin tones. There is something here for everyone.

e.l.f. HD Blush in Headliner

Headliner is a beautiful peach, leaning towards pink. This is the lightest of the shades, but very pigmented. This is more along the nude range, a great color to start with that will match any look.

e.l.f. HD Blush in Superstar

Superstar was my first e.l.f. HD Blush, the one that renewed my faith in e.l.f. This color is a warmer, more vibrant peach that is very near coral. I love this shade, it is my favorite from the range. It will pair nicely with warmer looks. I can see this looking amazing with nudes and browns, as well as antique gold, taupe, and olive colors.

e.l.f. HD Blush in Diva

Diva brings to mind the color of bright pink Gerbera Daisies. This color just makes me happy. I mean look at that pink! This is a bright, mid-tone pink that leans warm. It can be brightly worn, or sheered down to suit everyone. I think this shade would be well suited to all skin tones.

e.l.f. HD Blush in Encore

Encore is a deep, cool toned, dark pink. This color is so pigmented that I had a hard time getting it sheered out for my lighter swatch. My finger had almost nothing on it in order for me to get the lighter of the two swatches, and yet there is so much color. This will be absolutely beautiful on darker skin tones.

e.l.f. HD Blush in Showstopper

Showstopper is a lovely berry blusher. I love this color and I can not wait to try this out in a full look. This berry has warm red undertones, but given the depth of this color I feel that it can be worn in a variety of looks, not just warm ones. Darker ladies and gents that have been looking for a berry color that will provide the coverage they need without applying multiple layers, will like this.

e.l.f. HD Blush Collection

Collective swatches of my e.l.f. HD Blush haul. Overall, I am thrilled with this find. The quality of these blushes really made me reconsider my views on this brand. They are $3 for 0.51 oz. Would I repurchase? Absolutely.

  2. These are pretty much the most pigmented and amazing blushes! The deeper tones are surprisingly wearable, provided you use a light hand. I love them!
