Revlon Ultra HD Lip Lacquer
Revlon recently released a collection of lipgloss called Revlon Ultra HD Lip Lacquer. I have picked up HD Tourmaline as well as HD Pink Ruby to swatch and review.
Revlon Ultra HD Lip Lacquer
These glosses are very pigmented, they are not for someone who is looking for a sheer wash of color. These little beauties are for the person who really wants a punch of color and isn't afraid to show it. The top of the applicator has a large clear jewel adhered to it, a nice touch.

On the right is HD Tourmaline, the left is HD Pink Sapphire. I tried to capture the micro-shimmer, however it doesn't translate to picture well. HD Tourmaline has a fair amount of gold micro-shimmer, which doesn't come across while wearing it. HD Pink Ruby is loaded with violet micro-shimmer that gives it a duo-chrome effect depending on the angle. The applicator is a soft bristled brush. Although I prefer doe foot applicators, this brush was so soft and comfortable to use that I didn't mind it at all. This collection is vanilla scented, which I quite like, but sensitive users should be aware of.

HD Tourmaline is a mid-tone bright pink. I liken the color to MAC Candy Yum Yum. The gold micro-shimmer doesn't come to the fore-front here. The texture is almost whipped feeling in this particular gloss. It glides on easily, but I find that I need a lipliner with this to keep in from feathering.

One pass of this color will give you a bright Barbie pink pout. After about three hours a nice pink stain was visible where the gloss had faded. The texture is a bit sticky, although it didn't verge into MAC Lipglass territory.
Revlon HD Lip Lacquer in HD Pink Ruby
For some reason I find that I'm most prone to buying colors like HD Pink Ruby. The hot pink, electric hue reminds me of every rebellious fiber in my body translated into color. This is a beautiful jewel-toned fierce pink with red under tones and loads of violet micro-shimmer. Pictures do no justice. The texture is a bit different from HD Tourmaline in that it doesn't have that whipped feeling. This also has a thicker feeling on the lips, as well as being a bit sticky, but not uncomfortable. The color payoff is undeniable, and leaves behind a nice stain. I use an Invisible lipliner with this color as well, to avoid feathering.

I wish there was a way for me to capture all of the beautiful facets from the layers of micro-shimmer. This pink is such a fun color to wear, and such a mood booster! Out of all the colors from this collection, this is the one I had to have. I needed this color! So what if I already own a shade from Revlon almost exactly like it. Who cares if I own more lipgloss than clothes? This shade needed me as much as I needed it, at least thats what I told myself. So now this beautiful indulgence is mine all mine. My Precious.

Both shades are beautiful. If I were to pick just one, it would of course be HD Pink Ruby. If you don't mind a slightly sticky texture to your gloss, I would highly recommend checking out this line. It retails for $7.99 for 0.20 oz. Would I repurchase? Yes!
Be your beautiful self!
I like 'em both! I'm actually wearing hot pink today, hee hee :-) Colors like these are great to brighten up a cold winter day.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you like them too. The hot pink really does brighten the day! It's such a gorgeous shade.
