Reviewing My Sephora Haul

Soap & Glory  All The Right Smoothes

This set was a limited release for the holiday season. It came with three mini containers of body cream in the flavors The Righteous Butter, Butter Yourself, and Sugar Crush. Each scent is a slightly different texture, which I like very much. The Righteous Butter is a unique scent that is hard to describe. At first it has a very floral scent, although not rose, but there is something else lingering. Im not sure what other notes are imbedded, perhaps some amber and grapefruit? I love the texture of this cream, and it is very feminine smelling which is nice. Butter Yourself has a very fruity scent and the cream is thick, ideal for dry skin. The fruitiness of this is different than any other fragrance I own. It boasts of Frozen Yuzu, Orange oil, Green Fig, and Jungle Pomelo. This one is very playful, and sweet. Sugar Crush is lighter in texture. If I had to pick just one, this would be it. The fragrance is Lime and Sugar, but screams 7-UP! It has a touch of whimsy to me, as well as being deeply moisturizing. Each container weighs 1.69 fl. oz. I got this set on sale for $12. Would I repurchase? Maybe, but I would rather just get a full size Sugar Crush instead.

Tarte Colored Clay Brow Gel in Taupe

This product was sent to me by mistake. I received this in place of a Bare Minerals eyeshadow set. I was given a refund for the missing product, but told to keep this brow gel, so I decided to add it to my review. First of all, I adore taupes. This, however, is not taupe and seems more of a dark blond color to me. The pros: it is paraben free as well as gluten free, for those who would rather not have these things in their products. The cons: the bristles are so short that they really couldn't grasp my eyebrows well at all. Also the color is so light that it really didn't do anything at all for me, not even where I have very light, thin brows. This brow gel would work well for someone with extremely light blond to white eyebrows, as long as the sparse brush wasn't a problem. I can't really see it being useful to anyone else. There is 4 ml of product in here, and Im not sure what it retails for as it was sent to me by mistake. Would I ever purchase this? No, I would not.

Formula X in Danger Zone

I added this to my order on a whim because I was so close to making VIB Rouge at Sephora, and needed to spend just a few more dollars. This is my first Formula X nail polish. The color was difficult to photograph! It is a neon orangey pink with pink micro shimmer. This polish required two coats for a fully opaque coverage, and dried to a satin finish. I applied a top coat that made it shiny, which I prefer. It lasted on my toes a week without peeling or chipping. I got this on clearance for $5. There is 0.40 fl. oz. Would I buy more Formula X? Yes. Even at full price.

Sephora Matte Eyeshadow in Purple Rain

First thing's first, I truly believe that the Sephora brand is completely underrated! That being said, I do think that the reason people waiver over purchasing Sephora's store brand is the price. I mean, for a few dollars more you can have MAC. Right? Well Im here to persuade you otherwise. This brand isn't just a store brand. It is high quality, long wearing, beautiful cosmetics. I love the items I own, and do intend on owning more. On to the review.. This is my first eyeshadow from Sephora brand. I love the fact that you can pop out the eyeshadow and add it to a custom palette. I got this on sale also, because I wanted that blasted VIB Rouge. This was the only color on sale, so Purple Rain it is. The eyeshadow itself is quite large. I swatched it without primer at first and I could barely get any color at all to show up, but when swatched over UD primer potion... Wow! The pigment was intense, and wore very well. This matte wasn't powdery at all, very nice quality. Some type of primer is a must with this matte. Im so glad I got this. I would really like to try a shimmery color from this brand. The sale price was $5, for 0.07 oz. Would I repurchase? Yes. Definitely in other colors!

Josie Maran Coconut Watercolor Cheek Gelée in Vacay Rosé

I knew from the start when I was ready to place my order that one of these Cheek Gelée's had to make its way into my cart. I own a mini in Pink Escape, and I really wanted a full size in another color. These may be small, but don't let their size fool you. These little pots pack serious color pay off. The texture is nice, it has a moist yet firm gel feel. In the pot, the color looks way too bold for anyone to pull off, but the color is soft and very buildable. I like to apply these with either a Beauty Blender (small end), or a small stipling brush. This product gives a very natural pinched cheek look. I apply mine after foundation, but before setting powder. I find that setting powder just makes it look very natural on. I want to add Poppy Paradise to my collection soon. Retail price is $22, for 0.18 oz. I already am planning on purchasing others.

OCC Cosmetics Colour Pencil Essentials x 6 Set

I love all things Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics. This pencils set was originally $45. When it went on sale for $22, I had to have them. There are six full size pencils in this set, and separately these would retail for $16 each. Quite the deal here! This set includes the colors Tarred a black, Feathered a white, Hoochie a magenta, NSFW a true red, Black Dahlia a blackened burgundy, and Pool Boy a creamy sky blue. The interesting thing about these pencils is that they multi-task. You can use them for eyeliner, lipliner, face art, you name it. And let me just say, black lipliner isn't the easiest to find. These pencils are creamy enough to apply easily, but firm enough not to migrate. They are on the drier side, so they work well for the water line. I love these. I hope they release other sets. This was a complete win for me. Repurchase? Yes!

VIB Rouge Welcome Gift

The moment of achievement! I feel like I've won some major award, but really Ive just spent a lot of money. But none the less, I was happy to achieve VIB Rouge status. The best part about getting Rouge is the free shipping, no minimum order. Right away you are gifted a deluxe mini Bite Beauty red lipstick and wow, its a stunner. This lipstick is supposed to be a cream matte that isn't drying, but rather leaves lips feeling moisturized. My take is that it is an almost satin matte, it feels moist on the lips with an ever so slight sheen for the first hour. It wore quite well, and leaves a stain behind so that even when it started to wear off, it wasn't very noticeable. This color is a deep blue based red, that has a distinct vintage vibe to it. It is completely opaque in a single swipe, and has a slight sweet taste to it.
Would I purchase a full size? Yes!

Well, that wraps up my Sephora Haul. I hope my reviews are helpful. Stay Beautiful!
